I had always wanted to type this article to forecast my views, but never really had the time nor "thrust" to make it happen. But today was the day.
There are few questions against me for which only those who are near to me since childhood knew the answer.
1. Why is that I have an aversion towards modern generation ?
2. Why I don't like cinema ?
3. Why I like USSR ?
Those 3 questions may come from different angles. But the answer for the same is more or less interconnected.
I always hated crime against women. But sadly, I am not a big shot to prevent this. I am weak. I am helpless. But still by will I am strong and I believe that I am right. One of the prime reasons why I avoid cinema is because I felt that it projected feminine gender as object of lust & sexual fun. I felt it was inhumane to behave towards women like that. But the way cinema projected women in short dresses for fun offended my sentiments. Considering the fact, that I didn't have a sister by blood and being the only child, my anger and dislike towards the glamour stuff grew many folds. By the age of 15, I lost all interest towards cinema. I primarily restricted myself to Goundamani / Senthil jokes.
For me cine industry means more of soft core porn industry. They are grossly violating the honor of Indian women. I don't deny that there are some good films that portray good message to the society. But most are crap. I feel its more of creating Frankensteins by paying money to watch movies. What is the respect men are giving to their Lakshmi's & Saraswati's of this land ?
Nowadays I find most youngsters reckless commenting about girls and passing vulgar remarks. The worst is some girls like getting "attention" from them. I always felt that these youngsters got spoiled primarily due to cinema. I understand that "its natural and part of age", but always felt that there should be a limit. Even I passed through teenage and I know how it feels.
Even in real life, I keep my mouth shut as I can't go and explicitly advice someone or any friend. An advice to a girl could only mean that "I am possessive or narrow minded or someone who is of victorian era". Indian youngsters are the greatest scum of the Indian people. The way they rag girls who are freshers at college, tease, pass remarks, describe, gossip only infuriates me. That's one of the reasons why I primarily avoid youngsters whenever there is a chance. Professionally I can socialize, but personally, if there is a chance I stand by my ideology.
I was 5 when USSR broke into 15 countries. For some unknown reason even at the young age of 5, when I happen to see the word "Soviet Union" in magazines, I felt I had a bondage with it. Throughout my teenage (13-19), I read various articles of Soviet Union and its ideologies. I was impressed with its military might
and I felt it had more strict laws for protection of womenhood. There was no drastic bad portrayal of women in magazines, ban on pornography, equal opportunities for women and most of all respect for the feminine gender. There have been some instances in which USSR had its flaws in this respect, but during its 70 years of existence it was a good country. Soviet soldiers did behave indecently with German women after defeat of Germany - I don't deny that, but over all USSR was a bit better compared to other countries.
When I see a bunch of youngsters wearing offensive worded t-shirts and jeans roaming around the city, I use to feel that they should be conscripted and sent to border. For such people who believe life is easy and for those who make life tough for others, this is the only treatment that needs to be given. Just because of the cine industry, just because of few people, not even a single girl in this country is safe.
My ideas may be different. They may be not be even accepted. But I have the sacred duty to resist against what I regard as transgression of feminine rights.
It's been more than 10 years since I took this decision.
