Madurantakam Temple

A drawing on the walls of the Temple. It portrays Lord Ram blessing Lt.Colonel Plaze and giving darshan. To read about the legend please do refer to my posts in 2008 archives. The deity is powerful and it is believed to bless a devotee who prays sincerely from heart.

Bus/Train Routes:-
If you are in Chennai and if you live near the tracks board the 103SR Egmore-Pondicherry Passenger. The train starts from Egmore and goes to Pondicherry via Villupuram. It halts at Mambalam, Guindy, Tambaram, Guduvancherry, Potheri, Singaperumal Koil, Paranur, Chengalpet. Madurantakam comes at roughly 84km and the train would reach Madurantakam at 8:30AM.

You can also take a bus from CMBT and get down at the Madurantakam bus stop which is near the temple. If you are going by train you may need to walk along the roads from the station, through market and the busy town center. It would take 10 minutes roughly.

While returning the train comes only at 16.30hrs in the evening. So it is better if you return by bus.

Temple Timings: 7AM-11.30AM. I am not sure of the timings in the evenings.

Hotels:-
There is a hotel called "Nirmala Bhavan" which offers excellent food. It is near the temple. There are other small hotels too.

Lodges:-
I heard that there is a Kalyana Mandapam called Murgesa Mudaliar Kalyana Mandapam. That place is the only lodge in the town I think.

Trust me! If you want to have a difference in life, visit Madurantakam and pray to the Lord whole heartedly. He will bless you!

All the best,
